Abstract.
The article reveals the main characteristics of current assets and their importance for the economic development of a modern enterprise. The current assets of any economic entity are the most important part of its property, and their combination with non–current assets reflects the level of its economic development. To carry out economic activity, an economic entity must have production funds (capital), which represent a set of non-current and current assets, called fixed and working capital. Current assets are used in the process of financial and economic activity and the functioning of the enterprise is unthinkable without their presence. Therefore, the analysis of the current assets of an economic entity, the sources of their formation and the effectiveness of their use is considered a priority and urgent task for the top management of the subject of functioning. Turnover indicators are of great importance for assessing the financial situation of an enterprise, since the rate of turnover of funds, i.e. the rate of their conversion into monetary form, has a direct impact on the solvency of the enterprise. In addition, an increase in the turnover rate of funds, all other things being equal, reflects an increase in the production and technical potential of the enterprise and contributes to greater profits. The hypothesis of the study is determined by an overview of the importance of current assets in the activities of modern enterprises and their effective use. The purpose of the scientific research is due to the generalization and systematization of the methodology for analyzing current assets and their impact on the economic development of a modern enterprise.
