Abstract.
The article emphasizes that the high-risk nature of the innovation system in the modern unstable socio-economic environment makes it an important area of research in the field of risk management. The authors argue that innovation risk is the probability of complete or partial failure to achieve the goals of an innovation project. Innovation risk increases significantly if a region's businesses resist innovation. The work presents various types and types of risks, with a detailed justification of the possible consequences and specific prevention measures. The authors also identify two types of innovation risks - technical and market, and also discuss their impact on commercial success. A classification of risks into endogenous and exogenous risks is presented, highlighting their importance in the structure and functioning of regional innovation systems. Particular attention is paid to the risk associated with the unresponsiveness of the region's business structures to innovation. In addition, the authors propose specific preventive measures that can help reduce or prevent these risks from occurring. The concept of resilience of regional innovation systems is considered, which the authors propose to use for effective management of risks associated with the formation and transformation of innovation systems. The importance of creating a methodological base for adaptation to various conditions of formation and various factors affecting the risks of innovation activity is emphasized.
