Abstract.

The article analyzes the transformation of the geopolitical and economic picture of Eurasia, paying special attention to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM), also known as the Middle Corridor. Global changes, including the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Western sanctions, and disruptions to traditional trade routes such as the Red Sea, have sparked increased interest in alternative routes connecting Central Asia with Europe. The Middle Corridor, which involves Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey and China, bypasses Russia and Iran, relying on upgraded infrastructure and investments, including China's Belt and Road initiative and EU funding. The corridor offers a faster and more reliable route compared to sea routes, with a projected capacity of 10 million tons of cargo per year by 2027. Azerbaijan plays a key role through projects such as the Zangezur Corridor, which strengthen regional connectivity. The article highlights the strategic importance of TMTM for economic diversification, regional integration and geopolitical influence, especially for Turkey and Central Asian countries. Among the challenges are ensuring cost transparency, digitalization, and private sector involvement. TMTM is able to rethink Eurasian trade, contributing to economic security and stability in the face of global changes. The study reveals the economic importance of TMTM for regional integration, investment trends and the potential for deepening international cooperation. In conclusion, the conclusions about the role of TMTM as a new generation strategic resource for ensuring sustainable economic growth and improving transport security in Eurasia are presented.
