Abstract.

The article is devoted to substantiating the importance of the investment attractiveness of the region as a complex category, conducting a comparative analysis of existing methodological approaches to assessing the level of investment attractiveness of the region, followed by an assessment of their applicability in relation to the specifics of the development of Russian regions. Based on the identified advantages and disadvantages of Russian and foreign methodological approaches, potential areas for improving the analytical and evaluation mechanism have been identified in order to obtain complete and reliable data reflecting the current level of investment attractiveness of the region, increasing the degree of adaptability of this mechanism to changing conditions and current goals of territorial development. The analysis of methodological approaches to the analysis and assessment of the investment attractiveness of the region allows us to conclude that there is no unified methodological framework due to the shortcomings of recognized, proprietary (Russian) and foreign methods, represented by insufficient validity of the principles of selecting qualitative and quantitative assessment indicators, the "confusion" of the concepts of "investment attractiveness", "investment potential" and "investment potential". climate", the inadequacy of taking into account regional differentiation and specialization typical of Russian regions, in determining the key parameters (factors) of the assessment, the prioritization of the point-rating approach based on the method of expert assessments, the industry orientation of the methods of analysis and evaluation, which do not take into account the provisions of the stakeholder approach.
