Abstract.
Small and medium-sized businesses occupy one of the leading positions in the economy of any country in the world. The development of small and medium-sized businesses is a key factor in creating an efficient and diversified economy. The importance of the development of small and medium-sized businesses within the global space is due to the growth of production and increased employment, which entails an increase in people's living standards and a reduction in unemployment. The Government of our country pays attention to the support and development of small and medium-sized businesses, as one of the drivers of the “green economy”. Modern small and medium-sized enterprises are focused on improving financial and economic activities from a position of responsibility, because their priority tasks are not only financial indicators in the form of profits, but also the creation of new jobs, reducing unemployment and strengthening social and environmental stability. However, there are a number of problems that small and medium-sized businesses face. One of the important problems is the highly specialized nature of financial and economic activities. In this regard, the next problem arises in terms of economic instability and adaptability to changes in the external environment. The next problem can be considered the lack of a sufficient level of funding to ensure the social and environmental responsibility of small and medium-sized businesses. Small and medium-sized businesses do not have enough funds to implement the concept of a “green economy”, the main one of which is to increase people’s well-being and social equality, reduce environmental risks and environmental deficits. In the context of global competition and the transition to innovative development of the world economy, the need to intensify the development of small and medium-sized businesses, focused on a green course of operation, is increasing. The effectiveness of their work both in the short, medium and long term will require a targeted approach to the formation of rational directions for the implementation of the green economy concept.
