Abstract.
This article reveals the importance of improving the management mechanisms of sustainable development of enterprises at the macro level. Today, to overcome the consequences of the global crisis, the enterprises of the ferrous metallurgy complex need to increase their industrial potential. At the present stage of the development of economic society, one of the most important segments of the national economy is the metallurgical industry. It is worth noting the fact that the metallurgical industry of the Russian Federation is highly competitive on the world market. However, for the efficiency of the enterprises of this industry, an innovative approach is required in terms of modernization of the production process, ensuring the sustainability of development. It is also worth noting that the growth of the welfare of the country's population directly depends on the development of the metallurgical industry. Recently, there has been a high influence of external and internal factors on the field of metallurgy, which reduce the growth of production and negatively affect the environment. First of all, the factor of the presence of outdated technologies that do not correspond to modern analogues is highlighted. Outdated technologies not only slow down the production process, but also do not provide complete capture of toxic gases due to the lack of cleaning filters. Among the external factors that reduce the production volumes of metallurgical enterprises, it is necessary to highlight a series of crises, sanctions, the emergence of the problem of the COVID-19 century, the lack of improvement of the legislative framework, the lack of a system of regulation of industry by the state apparatus, since anti-crisis measures carried out by the government of the Russian Federation only slightly mitigate the situation. To achieve sustainable development and maintain a competitive advantage, the largest enterprises resort to the international division of labor, cooperation and integration.
