Abstract.

The popularization of the home delivery service associated with the COVID-19 pandemic has made changes in the mechanisms of food retail. We studied the transformation of the sphere of trade services in Russia taking into account adaptation to the current situation, logistics and infrastructure conditions. To increase the efficiency of retail digitalization processes in the country's territories, an assessment of their characteristics is required. The purpose of the study is to classify the results of adaptation of domestic retail chains in the regions of the Russian Federation to digital transformation and crisis economic phenomena. The specifics of digitalization of the food retail of territories are largely determined by statistical indicators. Were grouped the territories according to the correlation of the turnover of online trade in food products and the turnover of retail trade per capita. The author suggests three variants of typification of the Russian Federation's online food trade regulations with an assessment of indicators: the turnover of online food trade and its value per capita. Official data made it possible to form an objective picture of the development of the country's territories on the success of the retail digitalization process, taking into account the incomes of the population and the market situation. We presented, as a result, the analysis of the factors of the development of online food trade in Russia as a direction of qualitative transformation of the service sector in a new reality. The prospects of online trading in the Russian food market were assessed according to the proposed classification of regions (advanced, developed, developing, specific), as well as an analysis of types. We give a general characteristic of the differentiation of the domestic retail of food products in order to provide the population with high-quality service.
