THE MAIN PROBLEMS OF REFORMING ACCOUNTING STATEMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH IFRS

Abstract.

The article discusses the need to apply IFRS in Russia and the obstacles to integrating IFRS into current legislation. As part of the analysis, the author considered the opinions of leading economists and auditors on this issue, paying special attention to the analysis of the implementation of IFRS in other countries. The author's particular attention was focused on the problems that the Russian accounting system may face during the transition to IFRS. As a research task, the author identified an attempt to assess the current need for the formation of reporting in accordance with international standards, based on the needs of Russian companies. It was determined that Russian companies prepare financial statements in accordance with RAS, but the formation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS will enable them to ensure transparency of activities and comparability in performance with foreign companies. In the article, the author makes a generalized description of the current importance of reporting, in accordance with international standards. This opens up the possibility of access to international capital markets, attracting foreign investment and carrying out activities with foreign partners. In addition, the author notes the high interest of shareholders in IFRS reporting, which creates confidence in the company and its activities. The article analyzes the scientific opinions of the leading auditors of Russia, which made it possible to highlight the inconsistency of the application of IFRS in Russian practice. The terms, principles and methods of accounting applied in accordance with RAS are used in Russian tax and civil legislation, which cannot be changed at the moment. The main objectives of the article are to formulate the problems of reforming financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
