Abstract.
The labor market is one of the key elements in a market economy, the functioning of which is influenced by a large number of external and internal factors. The coronavirus pandemic in 2020 led to the emergence of a number of serious restrictions and obstacles in the aspect of the implementation of economic and economic activities for business entities. After the introduction of coronavirus restrictions, there has been a decrease in the growth rate of monetary incomes of the population, an increase in inflation, unemployment and consumer prices, which also negatively affected other socio-economic spheres. The purpose of this article is to assess the dynamics and nature of the development of the labor market in the context of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic in the Russian Federation. The methodology of the study is based on the analysis of the dynamics of quantitative and qualitative indicators of participation in the labor force of the population, as well as their characteristics, the comparative dynamics of the average monthly accrued wages of employees, the consumer price index and inflation in the Russian Federation for 2017-2021 using information and statistical materials of the Federal State Statistics Service. The use of materials and conclusions of the works of scientists, researchers and experts in this field made it possible to determine the prerequisites, the consequences of the influence of coronavirus infection, as well as the factors that led to changes in the labor market. As a result, the authors identified a number of changes in the labor market during the pandemic, which include an increase in unemployment, inflation, consumer prices, a change in the balance of supply and demand for labor, and the aging of the labor force in the economy.
