Abstract.
The topic of sustainable development is becoming increasingly relevant for all countries of the world. The UN General Assembly approved the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, an action plan to improve the development and well-being of people and the planet. This event became an important milestone in the formation of this direction on a global scale: 193 countries, including Russia, made a voluntary commitment to implement 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which are divided into 169 objectives on social, economic and environmental aspects. One of the objectives of Sustainable Development Goal №8 is to increase financial inclusion. The topic of financial inclusion is becoming more and more relevant for every country in the world every year, as well as the issue of people's well-being, which is a burning issue for every person and every government in the world. The study analyzes the impact of financial inclusion indicators on the Human Development Index based on a sample of 105 countries. Using least-squares regression analysis methodology, the study shows that the achievement of financial inclusion indicators has a positive and statistically significant impact on human well-being as measured by the Human Development Index for the entire sample. The results confirm the importance of developing sustainable finance and, in particular, financial inclusion policies, increasing the number of banks or their branches around the world, developing digital banking and mobile services, including credit services, and increasing people's access to them as a means of improving well-being. Thus, countries' public policies aimed at achieving financial inclusion have a significant impact on human development. The results of the study are expected to be of interest to governments, experts, and academics.
